Education
This section brings together our educational approach to Blue Citizenship — exploring how knowledge, personal connection, and political participation come together in shaping our relationship with the ocean.
Our work is guided by three interconnected pillars: Knowledge (Learn), Culture (Feel), and Governance (Act) — forming a structured learning journey toward democratic ocean citizenship.
It is also rooted in the principles of ocean literacy, as developed within UNESCO frameworks, recognising the ocean as a global system that connects us all and requires informed and responsible engagement.
As you explore this section, you can learn more about these three pillars, discover key concepts in ocean literacy, and explore the Blue Citizen Curriculum — developed through the experience of the Young Citizens' Council for the Ocean.
We make our learning materials available to the wider ocean community and aim to continuously develop them through exchange, shared experiences, and collaboration — enabling others to adapt, replicate, and build upon them.
