About
We are a youth-led initiative bringing together young Europeans to take citizenship seriously in the context of our shared and life-sustaining ocean.
In a time where global challenges transcend borders, we create a space for young people to engage not only as future leaders — but as active political participants today.
While we started as a European project, our perspective is inherently cosmopolitan: there is only one ocean, and the responsibility to protect it is shared across borders, generations, and societies.
As you explore this section, you will find more about how the project began, who the Council members are, and how young people worked together to develop the Blue Citizen Compass: an instrument that situates Blue Citizenship both conceptually and institutionally. It brings together a shared definition, guiding values, policy recommendations, and ideas for institutional participation.
